Negeri Sembilan was the only states that practice Adat Perpatih and using the Yang DiPertuan Negeri instead of Sultan. In century 14, people from Sumatera migrate from Minangkabau to Negeri Sembilan. A mix marriage happen between Minangkabau people and pnduduk asli, their generation are name as Biduanda. Until today, only citizen from Biduanda blood will be choose as the leader.
Adat Perpatih.
· Dato Pepatih Nan Sebatang was the people that responsible in existence of Adat Perpatih.
· Women are the priority in this adat by heritage all the 'harta pusaka' such as land and house.
· The purpose of this adat is to protect women right also to keep the harte.
